Dear friends

The old year is drawing to a close, today there will be trees surrounded by gifts and a rich Christmas Eve dinner. In a week, the end of this old year will be celebrated and we will look forward to the new year. Well, what can we wish for? To make things the same as they are, that would probably be enough for most of us.

The picture shows yesterday's photo of the sacred Arunachala, with the last eleventh fire on the mountaintop and Venus shining in the sky. Over the past eleven days, millions of believers have come to circumambulate the mountain, offer some flowers and light lamps and camphor cubes. They do this with the belief that a better life does not come automatically, but that we should somehow deserve it. And not only by hard work in the world, but also by working to cultivate our minds. Because only the quality of a person's mind, his faith and purity, makes a person truly better.

And the best people will find the place described in the verse in the Bhagavad Gita, there is no longer ordinary light but the light of knowing the truth and true reality. Whoever gets there will never return to the ordinary transient world full of transience and the sorrows associated with it.

I wish you a beautiful Christmas celebration, the birth of hope for eternal happiness, and a lot of peace and satisfaction in the new year.
