The first day of the Pongal Festival

Dear friends

So it is here - the most colorful Tamil festival has begun. Today I took a bicycle and set off at 7am in the morning. It was fog and 21 degrees Celsius, which is literally frost for local people. On the way I saw the first colorful little girls and of course I did not have a camera.
So after the morning Vedic singing and breakfast, I set off for another 14 kilometers long circuit, this time with both the camera and the mobile. Sadhu's have been already defrosted at the road. Pongal is a festival of celebrating the harvest, abundance and happy life, in all its forms, that is, the celebration of the Mother Goddess, the celebration of cows, family celebrations, all connected with good food and drink.
People dress up nicely and go to the goddesses in all their forms to boil the famous Pongal, rice with milk in a special pot. Pongal can be made for salty as an add-on to sambaru and chutney, but the festival is mainly made for sweet.
In the middle of the circuit, I was frightened by the new camera because it reported a card error. In the end, it was really just a card error and I even managed to save the pictures I've taken and you can see them too.
Tomorrow, the main Pongal is waiting for us, tomorrow we will go to school with cows to celebrate them with a tasty pongal. And the next day is for family meeting and family relations reunion.
