                 The Guru                 

"Marks of real Guru are: Steady abidance in the Self, looking at all with an equal eye, unshakeable courage at all times, in all places and circumstances, etc." Sri Ramana Maharishi

     The proper guru must possess all the virtues of a liberated being. The quote of Sri Ramana Maharishi is specific enough and there is nothing one could add to it. The right teacher has overcome the mistakes of his mind, learnt how it works and mastered it. He has destroyed all unjustified constructions and bondage, and experiences the world exactly as the mind and the senses mediate it, resulting in his absolute tranquillity and ability to show the way to the seeking.
     The guru need not be a living being, but he must be an absolute goal for the seeker. In the true reality, there is no difference between a guru and God. The guru not perceives himself as a body but only as pure silent conscience, and can transfer this feeling into your mind as well. It cannot be described, explained, or understood. All that is needed is to rest, relax, open up one's heart and find the guru's peace in it. The real guru is your best friend because he shows you the way to the ultimate happiness.
