             Republic Day             

Dear Friends

So we celebrated the Republic of India Day after a year. I pinned an Indian flag on my shirt and after singing in Sri Ramana Ashram and breakfast at Athithi Ashram I set out on a bicycle circuit southwest of Arunachala. It is about 35 km long, leads first along the main road, then along the secondary road and finally along the village roads. A part of the roads has been newly made since last year and there are only two kilometers from the whole circuit, otherwise there is a nice new asphalt everywhere. Otherwise, it is really dry, because even full tanks are without water this year.
Against other years, I saw few people and children with flags, while I did some pictures, but at other times it seemed to me that almost everyone wore the flag. On my way I saw a freshly burned brickworks, a harvest of sugar cane with Arunachala on the horizon, and of course Mount Arunachal, a form of God of Gods.
It was quite warm to the end of the road, and I would have to go out in the morning to get out of the day. When I got back to town, I put two glasses of sugar cane juice at 5 crowns and drank a liter and a half of water after returning to Athithi.
So this is a short picture report, now there will be ordinary quiet days until the full moon in February.
