Great Night of Shiva tonight

When the Moon enters Nova in late February or early March, there is one of the greatest holidays in India - Maha Shiva Ratri, or the Great Shiva Night. Now I have a description of the nature of Shivaratri

MAHASHIVARATRI

Today, March 4, 2019 is the sacred day of Mahasivaratri. At midnight, the Great Empires (Light Masters) travel to Lord Shiva's Divine Planets, bringing His Part with us to our Earth. So Lord Shiva literally descends to earth.

Lord Shiva is generally known as the Destroyer because His energies are needed for the destructive processes of the universe. But Shiva also contains the energies of Creation and Maintenance.

The next morning before sunrise, Lord Shiva enters each house as a beam of light. His Divine Energy will be available on this earth as light for ten days.

Rishis will inform Lord Shiva about the spiritual state of this earth and its people. Accordingly, Lord Shiva can give instructions to the Rishis, who are the administrators of this earth.

On the first day of Shivaratri, it is customary to stay awake at night. This practice is called Jagarana in Sanskrit, which literally means Don't Sleep. However, staying awake for only one night will not help us spiritually.

Jagarana is not a sleep suppression. It must be understood as the State of Consciousness or Awakening. Jagarana means being aware of Lord Shiva's presence on earth.

During the ten days spent by Lord Siva on Earth, we can gain more of His energy by meditating and realizing His Light. We can also try to feel the energy of His Presence all these days.

May the Lord's Divine Energy destroy our ignorance and help us to awaken.

So now you know something about the Great Night theory. I add some photos from yesterday and this morning. Yesterday I went past the Mountain, like every Sunday night. It was again the celebration of Taurus Nandin, and people were already coming down and gathering for today's celebration. This morning, we went to the Great Temple with Darshan - the sight of the Great God in the form of a stone lingam. Inside the temple, the Indians are not allowed to take pictures, so the first photo is the light of the rising sun, when we had the darshan behind us and then the view of the decorated temple. The last photo is at sunrise over Arunachala during a morning bike ride around the mountain.
