           Fire sacrifice           

Dear Friends

Today we had an annual great fire sacrifice in Sri Ramana Ashram. It is held in honor of the event associated with Sri Ramana and his mother. When Sri Ramana's mother was dying, Bhagavan spent the last few hours of her life with her, one hand on her head, the other on her heart. During this time all the mother's bonds to this world were burned, and she achieved liberation. If Sri Ramana did not spend this time with her, she would have to be born many more times.
Because the mother's spirit was freed from ties to the body, there was no need to burn the body, and so the Ashram inhabitants buried their mother's body at the foot of Mount Arunachala. Here they built a small temple dedicated to God Shiva. Since then, they have come to this place, and after some time Sri Ramana Ashram was formed.
In 1939, the construction of a stone temple began, and Sri Ramana carefully supervised it. On the day of ordination, he entered the sanctuary and put his hands on the stone Sri Chakra for a few minutes, symbolizing Mother. In doing so, Sri Chakra and the temple were blessed, and this fire sacrifice was held for the number of blessings.
I am sending a few pictures from the victim, which started at 7 o'clock in the morning and ended around 3 pm. First, there were ceremonies without fire, which burned around 11 and was offered many rare and common sacrifices. In the third picture, you can see that modern technology penetrates even as conservative as worship. Texts may not be read from books, who can read them from a mobile. At the end of the sacrifice, the brāhmanas pull out a huge ladle for sacrificing the melted butter. We see that even the brāhmaṇas do not have a simple life, sitting by the campfire in the midday heat, when the fire-free temperatures approach forty, singing and performing other ceremonies is also quite difficult.
