    Godness Kali Festival    

Dear friends

Just a day or two after Shiva's night is followed by the festival of goddess Kali, this year Shivaratri is already in February and February is unusually cold, so the festival is not in as hellish weather as it usually is. Many allegorical chariots with at least a ten-armed goddess Kali, the goddess of death and life, set out into the streets from early morning. Kali means black or time and death are just fulfilling time.
Families visit a car with Kali and offer her offerings on large plates, which after the blessed take home. Oh, and one cow settled very gourmetly at the entrance to a major temple dedicated to the Great Goddess.
Along with Kali, they set out into the streets a group of makeup natives representing various aspects of the goddess's servants of all colors. An integral part of the decoration are human bones and skulls, perhaps genuine, men sew on a skin lemons, trident everywhere, a favorite weapon of Shiva and his wife.
All passers-by are taking pictures of the parades and doing self, so do I. It is, of course, a happy holiday for children who can be beautifully decorated. By the evening, all the parades will slowly move to the eastern part of the city, where there is a large incinerator of the dead, where the festival will culminate. Some participants are resting at temples or shops, as it is still a few hours before the evening. On Sunday evening I walk around the Mountain, so when I get to the incinerator, I'll see if anyone else will be there. But I guess not, the Goddess belongs the day.

So devils we already had, St. Nicholas was not again here for obvious reason.
