          Maha Siva Ratri          

Dear friends

I'm sending some pictures from Siva Ratri, morning I did first circle around Arunachala by bicycle, I stoped in Adiannamalai temple, you can see view of Arunachala from temple yard and parrot, relative of my favourite fortuneteller specialist. Then is some procession on Tiruvannamalai street and some pictures from decoration of big temple. Creating mandalas, mixing salt with coloured powders, and some ascetic playing music and dancing in front of Arunachaleswara sanctum.
Then you can see making new road and a heavy roller getting darshan from Dakshinamurti close to Sri Ramanasramam.
Afternoon I went inner girivalam, I took shortcut by yellow mark over small saddle, and continued to the Big temple. One picture shows a small school girl making her homework at a door step.
Now we are in the Big temple, you can see decoration, Ganesh with silver harness, and people admiring mandalas and oil lamps, helping maintain them. Next is a group of devotees showering Siva lingam with leaves chanting Om Namah Sivaya (Bhagavad Gita 9.26 ?). Next are devottes with ghee lamps at the Nandin in Unnamalai temple. Next is Siva Lingam decorated with flowers in the middle of a salted decoration. Next are some children celebrating Siva night and my friend Sadhu with his friends.
Next is elephant giving blessing, he was quite lazy this time and his keeper had to push him do his work properly.
There was also dancing school, so you can see some arrangements. In another room was sadhus chanting Siva names at homa from oil lamps. I've got a tea, then went on to finish circle to Sri Ramana Asram. There was all night chanting of Vedas, came also some man with frankincense smoke generator.
Some Gods was possible see also the next day, one went by on motorbike
