Dear Friends
We finished a full moon celebration in February. The first 18 days of February was quite ordinary, nothing special was happening, which will make you happy too. The first picture shows Arunachal in the fog when returning from a morning trip. Next, I was on a short visit to bees in Sri Ramana Ashram. It's as cute as small bees have small beehives and small frames in them. And yet, they're so good. A beekeeper with a hood is a local priest who cannot afford to be swollen during the ceremony.
Then the Moon entered the constellation of Gemini. They are called Punarvasu in India, and there was the Moon when Sri Ramana was born. Thus, during the year, not only one big birthday is celebrated, but also 13 or even 14 small birthdays by the moon. That day our Athithi Ashram traditionally hosts holy men living homeless around the Mountain. The inhabitants of ashram are a pleasure, they sing, thank and bless us.
Then I set off for the evening circuit around Mountain. That was Sunday. According to my calculations, the main crowd had to go on Tuesday, and since I forgot my shoes, I went around Mount Barefoot. It was pretty good. That evening was the celebration of the bull Nandin, who is the vehicle of the great Shiva. There are dozens of them around the mountains, and all have baths in milk and special floral decorations.
The next day, Nataraja's land was for a change that consists of bathing the sculptures of Shiva. This image is the image of the universe and its incredible dance. Shiva bathes with his wife Parvati and the son of Ganesha. Buying with the Vedas in water, yogurt milk, coconut milk. The honey bath is used to make a fruit salad that is eaten as a blessed dish. It is also bathed in turmeric and other spices, lemon juice. eventually the flowers are decorated and the final fire ceremony is performed.
The February full moon started on Tuesday after midnight and ended the same day at about 10 pm. So, after the ceremony and dinner, I set off again around the mountain, the crowd of pilgrims was modest, again it was calmer. Even though I went in shoes, I was finally glad to be back at home one night. From that night, there are 4 snapshots, a bead stand, a sleeping sadhu that has all that neckstrap. Vendor of melons and finally fire in front of the Great Temple in the city.
And on Tuesday, the crowd grew stronger throughout the day. So I couldn't stand it, about five in the evening I set out for a crowd of pilgrims. The feet rested, I slept well, so I just went barefoot with my cell phone in my pocket. The crowd was classical at the time, and the funeral origin was part of the pilgrimage, drummers were doing their best to wake the dead. But they probably didn't succeed again. Arunachala stood motionless above the circling crowd, standing for three and a half billion years, one of the oldest mountains in the world. The Nandins' statues were blessed differently, followed by a snapshot with girls and tired sellers. The pilgrimage is short, but the crowd spread over two nights, so no wonder.
The length of a favorable period is determined by the distance of the Moon from Earth. Since it was a so-called superfluid, the full moon is closest to the Earth, then its apparent movement across the sky is faster than when it is distant. Therefore, it takes only about 22 hours. In the summer, when the full moon is furthest away from Earth, it will take 26 hours to be a good time.
On the next photo you can see that Gandhi is doing well and gaining a little bit of weight. The crowd of pilgrims continued to walk around the sacred mountain at night and sometimes stopped in a temple or hall with statues of saints.
Have a nice time !!!
